Midwife Alyssa

Welcome, I am so glad you are here! My name is Alyssa and I am a Certified and Licensed Midwife, Certified Doula. Certified Lactation Specialist, women’s health educator, and the founder of Levana Women’s Health. I am dedicated to supporting women through every stage of life, from puberty and fertility to pregnancy, postpartum, and menopause.

With a background bridging midwifery and modern integrative health, I bring a deeply informed, compassionate approach to hormone health and whole-body wellness. My work centers on education, personalized care, and empowering women with the knowledge and tools to understand their bodies and make confident choices.

Through Levana Women’s Health, I offer virtual coaching and education focused on hormone balance, metabolic health, and reproductive wellness. My approach integrates evidence-based nutrition, lifestyle and stress physiology, laboratory testing, targeted supplementation, and, when appropriate, access to prescription bioidentical hormone therapies through a trusted telehealth partnership. This allows women to receive comprehensive, individualized care no matter where they live.

After more than 1,000 births attended, I have mostly retired from full-time homebirth midwifery care to focus on research, teaching, and virtual hormone and wellness coaching.

I continue to support midwifery care for established repeat homebirth clients and offer labor doula services for any families birthing with a provider at Summa Hospital in Akron, Ohio.

I am actively engaged in research exploring professional wellbeing, sustainability, and systems of care within midwifery. My ongoing research study, The Collective Nervous System of Midwifery, examines how organizational climate, relational experiences, and regulatory pressure shape providers and the care they deliver.

I have served as a Women’s Health Instructor and Clinical Preceptor for graduate Physician Associate students at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and have lectured extensively on maternity care, lactation, and women’s health for medical professionals and midwives alike.

I am the founder of Health Compass Nutraceuticals, a line of high-quality, bioavailable supplements created to meet the needs of women and families seeking clean, effective, and trustworthy options. What began as a solution for my own clients has grown into a nationally trusted brand used by practitioners and families across the country.

Above all, I am a wife, mother of four, mother-in-law, and grandmother of two. These roles ground every aspect of my work and fuel my commitment to supporting women and families with integrity, compassion, and evidence-informed care.
